Is your perception reality?

When the restless activity of your mind slows down, when your thoughts stop rushing like waves on a windy day, then you will start getting glimpses of the sweet taste of inner peace. – Remez Sasson

Depression alters the way you think. Common symptoms are feeling fatigue, perplexed, and hopeless. You give up in wanting better for yourself, because when depressed a restful life is hard to fathom.

You get complacent in what step to take next in your progress. Instead of making a decision you give up or avoid it until it builds and the situation becomes worse. You come to see life through a lens of desperation because depression has a hold over your mental vision.

You think constantly how life is stressful. Everything seems hard and boring. I want to encourage you to focus your mental vision on finding inner peace.

What is your reality?

Depression develops when your reality is too much to handle. The stress and heart ache of it all is intolerable. Your suffering is not to be minimized, but only kept in proper perspective to help you cope with it.

Long for a better day, because of all the pain you endure. Know you are not the only one hurting and desperate for fulfillment. Everyone has to figure out their journey in life just like you are doing.

A big factor in depression is your mindset. Having an optimistic outlook on life can lighten your mood. Ever wonder how a grieving mother who has lost her child can live and still smile. It is possible because you must keep on living in the midst of pain. Your heartbreaking experiences can give you wisdom.

Develop inner peace and heal your wounds. It is a calmness no one or thing can destroy. In desperate times, inner peace helps you know everything is going to be alright. When others think you should be devastated, strive for inner peace to overcome the pain.

What memories bring you joy? What is the most important lesson you have learned from those you have lost?

My grandpa died June 2011. I will never forget what my Uncle told me in a conversation.

He said, “all you can do is talk about it, because memories are all you have left.”

Unexpected things will occur so cherish the memories.  There is wisdom in reflection.

Does this mean you should live in the past? No.

Reflection and appreciating your good times give you the ability to be grateful for living, grateful for what you have, and grateful for what more you want to achieve. Gratitude is a step towards tranquility.

What are your dreams? What is your vision for your life?

Dreams give you hope. Vision sets a stronger foundation for inner peace.  And reality is not something to fear or escape.

How do you understand your reality?

There is a criterion by which you can judge whether the thoughts you are thinking and the things you are doing are right for you. The criterion is: Have they brought you inner peace?  – Peace Pilgrim

Inner peace comes from a heart willing to love not hate, forgive not revenge, and serve not impede.

Are you giving unconditional love, forgiving others, and wholeheartedly serving?

These things might seem foreign to you. You come from an environment of chaos. There’s a duality between love and revenge that you hold in your heart from all the lost you have endured. You don’t want others to take your kindness for weakness. In your perspective, it’s a harsh world and you have to protect yourself.

You can love others without feeling like you are being taken for granted. Love is not an excuse to cause pain. Forgive for your own well-being.

You don’t have to do big things to serve others. It can be you simply giving a warm smile and hello to a homeless person or a stranger who looks sad. It’s the small gestures that can make a big difference in others lives.

Your consciousness develops from your environment and experiences. Expand your mental vision and understanding of reality.

Have a calm and joyful attitude. Inner peace is a choice in how you think and react.

Depression and inner peace cannot coexist, because mental illness brings dysfunction and confusion. How you feel on the inside determines how you perceive your reality and your existence.

Please reflect on these questions for better awareness.

What more do you want for yourself? Why?

What is your plan to achieve your vision?

What attitude do you hold that keeps you from loving, forgiving, or serving others?

Live with inner peace! Please let me know your perspective and leave a comment. :)
