Sometimes, we look outside of ourselves to solve our life challenges.
There are times we must look to others for help because no man is an island. But are you looking to others for a solution to a problem that they are incapable of helping you solve?
For instance, most therapist will tell you therapy will not help you if you are not willing to receive the help and the things you do outside of therapy are what help you recover from depression.
Are you taking the necessary steps to recover from your depression? It starts with you setting your mind to change and in order to change you must evaluate what are the philosophies doctrines beliefs and dogmas that you allow into your mind on a conscious and subconscious level.
These things stop you from recovering from your depression.
What you have been doing thus far has led you to despair thus if you keep doing what you have been doing you will always be unhappy.
You must change your current state of mind.
Remember the definition of crazy is doing the same thing over and over again the exact same way expecting different results.
Change your present mindset?
This simple step allowed me to go from being hospitalized on suicide watch in the mental ward to staying in the Marriott on a scholarship to attend one of the world’s most popular internet marketing seminars, Yanik Silver’s Underground Online Seminar 8.
The moment I started to evaluate what I let into my mind was the moment that I started to take steps to better my mental health.
Think about what you want out of life and the current dogmas you allow into your mind. If these things are not congruent then you must change what you are listening to and receiving into your mind.
Many hold on to defeatist mindsets and beliefs because they think they are being spiritual or an ignorance to changing themselves.
Be honest with yourself and put your mental health first before any man-made philosophies and beliefs.
Don’t waste your mind on destructive habits. You have a choice over what you listen to and what you follow throughout your life.
A Simple strategy: Ask Questions
Use your critical thinking skills to determine if your current perspectives are helping you or not. Don’t just follow along because everyone else is or you feel inadequate.
Your mind is powerful. It can destroy or uplift you depending on how you think on a daily basis.
Don’t be afraid to question yourself about your present state of mind.
When you do this and discover an answer take the necessary steps to change and become a better you because it will improve your relationships, life experiences, and opportunities.
Your mindset is vitally important because it will determine if you will stick to changing your eating habits and lifestyle to live depression free.
