Why you must have Internal Courage?

“Most are cowards and unaware of their subconscious fears that hold them back from getting better. This includes me I use to be one of them.” – Abigail Johnson Akingbade

A coward is one who lacks ability to endure hard things. A coward gives up and lets fear overcome them. Whether intentionally or unintentionally cowards let fear hold them back from prospering in life.

Most will say I’m not a coward. I face my fears.

However unknowingly they are lying to themselves and not fully evaluating their beliefs and actions. Outwardly you have the ability to seem courageous but inwardly you are in turmoil and weak, fear overcomes your thoughts.

Depressions requires you to develop internal courage and face your fears in your thoughts and words which might not be easily noticeable in your behaviors and actions.

Internal courage is the capacity within yourself to be strong in the face of pain. It is the ability to face difficulty and withstand in the midst of chaos. It does not mean you have no fears rather it means your fears have no control over your life. You become courageous when others give up, complain, and settle for less than their full potential.

Having internal courage means you become the master of your thoughts and you overcome fear that hold others back to a life of depression. You have fears but fears don’t have a hold over you. You make sound decisions and remain at peace internally in the midst of struggle.

Nothing overpowers your persistence to achieve and live with joy. Internal courage enables you to have a source of mental strength to rely on when you have a bad moment, things aren’t going well, or you feel alone in your soul.

How to build internal courage?

It takes deep reflection of who you are and being open to refine your character flaws.

Three things you must do:

1. Read daily uplifting and positive messages from the bible, eBooks, and/or biographies.

  • Don’t skim deeply read the content and reflect on the principles within the book.
  • This gives you internal thoughts and principles to reflect on when you are feeling down.

2. Get a mentor

  • Someone who can encourage you when you need it and inspire you to remember what you want out of life.

3. Write down your thoughts daily.

  • This gives you the ability to reflect and evaluate your feelings and thought processes.

Internal courage gives you hope when depression seeks to overcome your soul. Be strong and know you can get better. It’s only a process you have to go through to grow and heal your soul.

For too long you’ve been a coward and now you must be courageous!

It easy to say avoid assholes. But there are so many sitntaious, where you can not aviod such people. Is it not also your own personal perception of who has this label? My late Mother was Bi-Polar and i had one label attached, with personality Disorder, with paranoid traits.I totally reject the label, as this is used, when they don’t know what is wrong? I have recently had to start taking blood presure tablets.Which are making me so down and try to tell GP.There must be a correlation, between the psychological health and the physical symptoms? I have spent years going round and around. The stigma i attach to myself is heartbreaking. In my experience. It is the people in Psycharity which are at question.

Even though we have mental illness it must not be how we define ourselves. It is a factor in our life not the defining characteristics to who we are. Define yourself outside of having this disease. You can’t control what others perceive about you though you can control what you answer to and who you are. Always discuss with your doctor any symptoms you are having from the medicines. Thank you for sharing. I deeply appreciate your willingness to share. :)
